Push Polling

LP over at New Mexico FBIHOP noticed we sent an email out today:

Tom Udall sent out an e-mail to supporters informing them of push-polls from one of his Republican opponents, and asking for a bit of help.

It is becoming a good fundraising opportunity for campaigns, when faced with these type of underhanded tactics from their opponents, to ask their supporters to pitch in a few bucks to fight the misleading charges.

And in this case, it seems the culprit is the oft-fined and notorious "Common Sense Issues"

In case you're not familiar with Common Sense Issues, this group has been caught push-polling for Mike Huckabee in Iowa and the firm they used to make those calls has been fined in multiple states for violating the law. Now they're here slinging mud at Tom Udall.

Feel free to drop on over to donate if you agree with LP that it's a good reason to donate.

The Santa Fe New Mexican took notice too:

A Jan. 9 story in Newsweek said, "Common Sense Issues is a tax-exempt group registered in Delaware whose organizers have acknowledged the use of controversial telephone polling tactics to promote (Mike) Huckabee presidential bid — and allegedly to trash the campaigns of the former Arkansas governor's rivals."

If you'd like to help us fight back, please do.
