Jill Cooper Blogs the DNC with Heath Haussamen

Jill Cooper, Tom Udall's wife, will be blogging occasionally over at Heath Huassamen's Blog about the Democratic National Convention. As we told you earlier, Tom is scheduled to speak between 4:45PM and 6PM mountain time today at the convention.

Tom Udall went down to Los Poblanos Ranch in Los Ranchos yesterday to speak about issues of importance to farmers and ranchers. After a stirring speech on the issues facing our country, and more specifically ranchers and farmers, the Congressman took questions from the crowd.

Register for Change in Indian Country

The Register for Change bus came to the Sandia Pueblo today to talk about the importance of registering and engaging voters. Governor Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, was on hand, as was Tom's wife Jill Udall, actor Kal Penn, and LA Laker Derek Fisher. All had encouraging words for our electoral prospects here in New Mexico.

Tour Day 8: Town Halls in Santa Rosa and Clovis

Following the Edgewood BBQ, we headed out to Joseph's Restaurant on Rt. 66 in Santa Rosa for some iced tea and a town hall with community leaders and concerned citizens. Congressman Udall spoke passionately on issues ranging from the Iraq War to Energy Independence, at one point declaring his belief that New Mexico has the environment and the talent to become "the Saudi Arabia of Solar and Wind".



Tour Day 8: Edgewood BBQ

Another whirlwind tour day today, with stops in Edgewood, Santa Rosa, and Clovis. Our first event of the day was held at the Edgewood Elementary School where Congressman Udall met with community leaders, veterans, and concerned citizens.

Tour Day 7: Meet and Greet at Boys and Girls Club in Pojoaque

I just returned from the Meet and Greet session with Tom Udall at the Boys and Girls Club in the Pueblo of Pojoaque. The room was packed near capacity, with more than enough people to fill the fold out chairs that had been put out for the event.
