It’s time to burn Zozobra!

September is here. And as families from Santa Fe will proudly tell you — that means it’s time to burn Zozobra.

You may not have heard of Zozobra, or “Old Man Gloom,” but it’s a special tradition that Santa Feans, and families all over New Mexico, look forward to each year. Folks in New Mexico write their troubles on slips of paper and burn them away inside the wooden puppet, Zozobra.

This year, whether it’s extremists threatening to shut down the government or trying to eliminate even more campaign finance reform rules, there are quite a few Republican policies Tom would like to see go up in smoke.

But before Zozobra catches fire tonight, we want to know — what would you you plan on burning?
