Albuquerque Business First: Udall rails against Senate gridlock

“I have said for a long time: the Senate is a graveyard for good ideas. Gridlock, hyperpartisanship, delay, obstruction – it adds up to one thing: broken,” Udall’s statement said.

Udall railed against the “historic abuse of the filibuster and other procedural tactics,” which he said are designed to “block the Senate in getting its work done.”

Udall said there are more than 150 Obama administration nominees whose confirmations by the Senate are pending, but have been blocked.

“Those nominees have been pending an average of 260 days more than eight months – since they were first put forward,” Udall’s statement said.
