A chemical law that really works

Congressed passed the Toxic Substances and Control Act (TSCA) 40 years ago — and since then it’s been used to restrict just five chemicals. It even failed to ban asbestos.

Harmful chemicals are pumped into household cleaners, plastic containers, and other goods that families in New Mexico and across the country use everyday. Our current chemical laws have done far too little to regulate these toxic substances and protect American consumers. And they have failed to protect our most vulnerable — infants, pregnant women, children, and the elderly.

In the Senate I’m working with colleagues across the aisle to reform our chemical laws because Americans deserve a comprehensive law that actually works.

Our chemical laws must do more to protect the health of American families. I’m working in Congress to pass meaningful reform — but I could use your support.

Sign on and let Congress know that it’s time to update our chemical laws now.
